Hydraulic cylinder repairs in Rustenburg

Worn cylinders stripped, machined, welded, resealed and put back together in our workshop. New cylinders built to your specification.

Reconditioning

Worn shafts, damaged tubes and blown seals diagnosed and put right, back to original specification.

Full rebuilds

Stripped completely, machined, resealed and reassembled, so the cylinder goes back on the machine as good as new.

New builds

New cylinders machined, welded and assembled in-house to your specification.

Before and after

Cylinders come in by the pallet from different machines. They leave reconditioned, sealed and wrapped, ready to fit.

How a rebuild goes

Every cylinder that comes through the shop follows the same five stages, so the standard doesn't change from one job to the next. Filmed on real jobs.

  1. 01

    Intake and strip-down

The cylinder is inspected, logged and stripped so every component can be assessed.

  2. 02

    Machining a new shaft

A new shaft is turned on the lathe to size, ready to pair with new seals.

  3. 03

    Welding the head

The head is welded back in place with clean, full welds that hold at working pressure.

  4. 04

    Fitting the piston

The piston is fitted to the new shaft, torqued and aligned for final assembly.

  5. 05

    Sealed and assembled

Fully reassembled and sealed, ready to go back on the machine.

Cylinder questions

Every cylinder is different. Photos and the data plate get you the quickest answer.

Is it worth rebuilding a hydraulic cylinder instead of buying new?

Often, yes. If the tube and main components are sound, reconditioning with a new shaft and seals is usually quicker and cheaper than a replacement. We'll tell you which makes sense once it's stripped and assessed.

Why is my hydraulic cylinder leaking?

Most leaks come from worn or damaged seals, and a scored or bent shaft is a common cause. We strip the cylinder to find out why the seals failed, so the repair lasts.

Can you build a new cylinder to my specification?

Yes. New cylinders are machined, welded and assembled in-house. Send a drawing, the dimensions, or the old cylinder to measure from.

What should I send for a cylinder quote?

Photos of the cylinder, its data plate if it has one, and the machine it comes off. WhatsApp 066 403 0729 or use the quote form.
